    • The YCCECE leadership team participated in the Global University Presidents and Leaders Summit 2024, held from 2 to 3 December 2024. The event featured over 50 speakers and representatives from internationally renowned institutions.

At the summit, Zheng Yanxiong, director of the central government’s liaison office in Hong Kong, urged the city’s universities to cultivate students with vision and academic integrity while contributing to the humanities. HKSAR Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu remarked that Hong Kong has attracted students from more than 100 countries, with over half of the academic staff in local institutions coming from outside the city.

Representatives from YCCECE included Board of Governors member Dr WH Fok, Chairlady of the YCCECE College Council Dr Lydia Chan, President Professor Kerry Lee, and Vice Presidents Professor Eric Cheng and Dr Frank Lam. Professor Kerry Lee emphasized that the educational excellence of tertiary institutions makes Hong Kong a global hub for higher education, "we have leaders and scholars in Early Childhood Education supporting us from around the world, the majority of whom are on the Professoriate track, with nearly 80% possessing biliterate or trilingual teaching abilities, enabling us to nurture students from diverse nationalities and complement the government’s mission to make Hong Kong an international tertiary education hub."
