Yew Chung College of Early Childhood Education held its Congregation Ceremony cum Honorary Fellowship Conferment 2024 at its city campus in Kowloon Tong on Saturday, 16 November 2024.

The College is pleased to have invited Professor Anthony B. L. Cheung, PhD (LSE), GBS, JP to deliver a commencement address. Professor Cheung is the Former Chairman of Committee on Self-financing Post-Secondary Education and Former President of Education University of Hong Kong.

The College’s Board of Governor Chairperson Dr Betty Chan officiated and presented an Honorary Fellowship to two distinguished individuals, in recognition of their contributions to the community and education sector. The two recipients are:

• Professor Jeff Thompson, CBE, Emeritus Professor of Education, Department of Education, University of Bath*

*Professor Jeff Thompson attended the ceremony virtually from overseas

Dr Betty Chan then presented certificates to the graduates of Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (Honours), Higher Diploma in Early Childhood Education, Diploma in Early Childhood Studies, and Certificate Course for Kindergarten Principal. Graduates were inspired and encouraged to make meaningful contributions to the education sector and play a vital role in nurturing the community through their training and expertise.

Several awards were presented in the Ceremony including the Founder’s Award, Best Capstone Project Award, President's List, Knowledge Transfer Award, Teaching Award and President’s Award for Outstanding Staff.
