On 16 August, Yew Chung College of Early Childhood Education (YCCECE) warmly welcomed the Shanghai Youth Federation delegation to Hong Kong for exchange and visit.
The delegation visited the College and learned about its educational philosophy of focusing on nurturing children's interests, creativity and social skills, and guiding them to explore and learn actively through a variety of educational activities. The delegation was deeply impressed by the “Yew Chung Approach to ECE”, which brings a unique and fresh perspective to the world of education. It combines traditional Chinese Confucianism with Dewey's theory of progressive education, reiterating the importance of international education as an eclectic learning environment between Chinese and Western cultures.
The mission also included a visit to the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (LOCPG).
This visit is not only a short-term exchange, but also an opportunity for cultural collision, and a new starting point for educational cooperation between Hong Kong and Chinese Mainland. Through the ties of education, it has built a bridge for young people of the two places to exchange views and further promote mutual understanding and cooperation in between.
