    Connecting Learning: Using MOVERS to Support Physical and Child Development in 2-6 years old

    • Yew Chung College of Early Childhood Education (YCCECE) and Whole Child Institute will co-host an online seminar on Tuesday, 28 September 2021 to introduce the benefits of movement play to kindergarten principals, teachers and early childhood education (ECE) professionals. The seminar will focus on the Movement Environment Rating Scale (MOVERS), a new measuring method of the quality of environment and teaching approach in which young children are encouraged to move and be physically active.


      Participants will gain understanding directly from Professor Iram Siraj, OBE, developer of the MOVERS Scale, and Professor of Child Development and Education at the University of Oxford. She will explain the quality physical development curriculum and pedagogy at the seminar.


      In addition, Professor Yuan Jinxia, Associate Professor at Nanjing Normal University who contributed to the Chinese version of the Scale, and Ms Zhang Dandan, Adjunct Lecturer at YCCECE, will also share practices to integrate physical education in teaching.
