On 11 November 2023, YCCECE held its 2023 Congregation Ceremony cum Fellowship Conferment. It is a great privilege for the College to have invited Madam Zhu to deliver a commencement address at the Ceremony. The Board of Governor Chairperson Dr Betty Chan Po-king officiated the ceremony by presenting certificates to the graduates of Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (Honours), Higher Diploma in Early Childhood Education, Diploma in Early Childhood Studies, and Certificate Course for Kindergarten Principal. Graduates were inspired and encouraged to make meaningful contributions to the education sector and play a vital role in nurturing the community through their training and expertise.
Dr Betty Chan Po-king awarded Honorary Fellowship titles to two distinguished individuals who have made significant contributions and achievements in the field of education in recognition of their outstanding career achievements and contributions to society. The distinguished individuals who have received the title of Honorary Fellowship are:
• The late Madame Lydia Ann Huang
• Madam Zhu Muju
Mr Mark Huang, representing his late mother Madame Lydia Ann Huang, was presented with the award and had the opportunity to speak to the audience. He expressed gratitude to YCCECE for the honor bestowed upon his mother. Mark spoke about his mother's deep passion for education and how her teaching had a lasting influence on multiple generations. He proudly shared a quote from his mother, saying, "I am a teacher."
Madam Zhu Muju, addressed the audience and expressed her heartfelt thanks to the College for the recognition. She acknowledged YCYW’s contribution to early childhood education in China. She ended her speech with a quote: “do not say that the evening is late, for the sky is filled with rosy clouds.”
