Once a year, our students team up with YCIS Primary Section students to run and roar in dinosaur costumes, celebrating YCYW Founder’s Day while enjoying playful interactions with fellow "dinosaur friends." This year, six College students donned dinosaur costumes and traveled to the YCIS Primary Section to engage in fun running games with the children. It marks the second year that the College has brought the Dinosaur Charity Run minigame to various YCIS campuses in Kowloon Tong. The students were thrilled to participate in this annual celebration, filled with excitement and laughter as they enjoyed various sports activities throughout the day.
All Yew Chung Yew Wah campuses throughout the world celebrated Founders Day with fun sports activities over two days from 9 to 10 October 2024. In Hong Kong, one of the highlight activities for the YCIS Primary Section Year 1-5 students is the Dinosaur Run mini game, in which almost a thousand YCIS students dressed up as dinosaurs and took turns to join the games. Not just the students had great time running around, the teachers also enjoyed the vibes and cheered for the runners. Children were thrilled when they enter the playground and saw the dinosaurs, some shared their knowledge about dinosaurs, some told others how they learnt about it last year.
Among the six attending College students, three of them joined the game last year and had an unforgettable experience, this year they became leaders and shared tips in leading children learn through play.
