On behalf of the Council and the President’s Office, we would like to share updates concerning our Senior Leadership Team.
Dr. Frank Lam, Vice President (Administration), will be relocating to Australia this summer to spend more time with his family, and we wish to take this opportunity to recognize his immense contributions to our College, both as an esteemed colleague within the President’s Office in recent years and as a beloved academic leader during the Yew Chung Community College (YCCC) era. Aside from demonstrating unwavering commitment and passion for our vision and mission, co-leading numerous institutional and academic accreditation exercises, and spearheading various new initiatives and partnerships, particularly in mainland China, Frank has intentionally invested in the people around him, building lifelong friendships with staff, students, and alumni alike. His profound impact speaks volumes about his character, always leading with heart and serving with integrity, warmth, and positivity.
Succeeding Dr. Frank Lam will be a new colleague to YCCECE, but a familiar face to many in YCEF and our network of Yew Chung and Yew Wah (YCYW) Schools. We are excited to announce the appointment of Ms. Cathy Li (Li Yan) as our new Vice President (Administration), effective 1st August 2025.
Ms Cathy Li is a distinguished school administrator with over 20 years of corporate management experience in International Education in China. She served in various leadership positions within YCYW from 2002 to 2018, primarily in Beijing and at Headquarters in Hong Kong. She initially headed up Human Resources and later expanded her portfolio to leading all administrative functions as School Business Manager, partnering with Co-Principals as members of the Senior Leadership Team. After returning from further study overseas, Cathy was appointed as the Founding Chinese Principal of Harrow Haikou International School in Hainan Province in 2019, and has also been serving as a Founding Advisory Board Member and Vice-President of the non-profit Network for Enriching Students and Schools in China (NESSIC). She holds dual MBAs from the Hult International Business School in San Francisco, USA, and Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics in China. Additionally, she earned her Bachelor’s degree in English from the Dalian University of Foreign Languages in Dalian, Liaoning Province, her hometown.
We are thrilled to welcome back Cathy, and trust that her extensive executive leadership experience and professional networks will further strengthen our College’s administrative operations and global outreach, solidifying our status as a leading Early Childhood specialist Higher Education Institution, bearing the distinctiveness of the ‘Yew Chung Approach’.
As always, thank you for your continued support, and please join us in thanking Frank and welcoming Cathy this summer!
