On 24 June, Dr Phoebe Cheung and Dr Ana Aracelly Olguín felt honored representing YCCECE and presented at the Hong Kong Teaching Excellence Alliance Symposium 2024 held at Hotel Shangri-La. Ms Nancy Ting and Ms Mary Ann Hood of the K2P Project also participated in the symposium and presented on the topic of "Kindergarten to Primary School Transition: Supporting Children's Wellbeing".
The underlying theme of the Symposium was Reflection and Exploration. The event started with morning greetings and round table discussion. The afternoon was full of thoughtful and informative presentations, including those by Dr Cheung and Dr Olguín.
Dr Cheung focused her presentation on her experiences teaching Bachelor’s degree students about Child's Rights and Protection by using the Design thinking approach. Dr Olguín spoke about her recently funded Guardian Angel Project and how it will prepare parents and caregivers to understand Child's Rights and Protection as Hong Kong braces to pass mandating reporting as a law.
The K2P Project team also presented a remarkable showcase of their materials, and the symposium offered a valuable platform for them to gather feedback and insights.
The event wrapped up with an enjoyable dinner, and there was a palpable feeling of camaraderie and knowledge exchange among the participants.
